He is widely acknowledged as the founder and CEO of People Group and Shaadi.com, a prominent online matrimonial service in India. His entrepreneurial journey extended into various sectors, including mobile gaming with Mauj Mobile an alternative to TIKTOK and property marketplaces with Makaan.com. Mittal has also been actively engaged in shaping the Indian internet landscape, notably serving as IAMAI Chairperson from 2006 to 2007.

He has also invested about INR 1 Crore in OLA Cabs. Currently, he has a 2% share of OLA Cabs.
