VINEETA SINGH

Vineeta Singh, born in 1983 in Anand, Gujarat, is a prominent Indian entrepreneur and CEO, best known as the co-founder of Sugar Cosmetics. She gained further recognition as a judge on the business reality TV show Shark Tank India, which premiered on SonyLIV in 2021.

Early Life and Education

Vineeta Singh's academic journey began at Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram, where she completed her schooling in 2001. Subsequently, she enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology (Madras) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005. Following this, Singh pursued her MBA at the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), graduating in 2007.

Career

In 2007, Vineeta Singh founded her first startup, Quetzal, focusing on background verification checks for recruiters. However, the venture did not achieve success. She later launched Fab-Bag in 2012, a subscription service delivering beauty products monthly. Sugar Cosmetics, her third startup, was established in 2015, targeting the Indian cosmetics and personal care market. The company gained significant traction, securing a $50 million deal with private equity firm L Catterton and attracting celebrity endorsements from figures like Bollywood star Ranveer Singh.

Recognized for her achievements, Singh has featured prominently on the covers of business magazines such as Forbes India, Business Today, and Businessworld. She has openly discussed challenges such as gender discrimination in securing funding, highlighting her commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs.

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Vineeta Singh has ventured into the entertainment industry. She serves as a judge on Shark Tank India and has appeared on popular television programs like Kaun Banega Crorepati and The Kapil Sharma Show alongside her fellow Shark Tank judges.
